Our commitment
We handle personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. This page summarises how those rules apply to enquiries submitted through this website. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which carries the full detail.
Lawful basis for processing
We rely on your consent (given when you submit the enquiry form) and on our legitimate interests in running a service that matches homeowners with vetted specialist contractors. Where contact is needed to take steps before entering a contract you have asked about, Article 6(1)(b) of UK GDPR also applies.
What we collect
Your name, phone number, email address, property address, and the details you share in the message field. We also collect technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed.
How your data is shared
Enquiries are passed to one or more vetted specialist subsidence repair contractors operating in your area, so they can contact you about the work. Once forwarded, that contractor is an independent data controller and responsible for their own handling of your data.
Retention
Enquiry records are kept for up to 24 months from your last interaction, after which they are deleted or fully anonymised. Audit data needed to evidence lawful processing (such as consent timestamps) may be kept longer.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Have your data erased ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to our use of your data
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that has already taken place.
How to exercise your rights
Email us at privacy@bromleysubsidence.co.uk or use our contact form. We aim to respond within one calendar month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, by calling 0303 123 1113, or by writing to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encrypted transport, access controls and limits on who can view stored enquiries.
